My name is Ilaria Gaggero. I’m a freelancer: content writer, copywriter, translator, communication & marketing specialist, travel & tourism expert, and foreign language teacher. I am fluent in Italian (my mother tongue), English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish, and I can easily speak and understand German.

I graduated from the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators of the University of Trieste, in Italy, with distinction, in 2008. Since then I built my career, freelancing but also being employed in SMEs and big companies in Sales & Marketing roles. I learned a lot about business through this path. Later on, I specialized both in communication for the media and travel & tourism, with a Master’s Degree in Journalism at the University of Genova, in Italy, specific trainings and work experiences.

I spent two amazing years in Brazil, where I knew this country and its culture in-depth and I taught English and Translation Theory at the Dept. of Modern Languages of the University of Brasilia. I also lived and worked in Paris, France, employed in the tourism industry.

I’m a very committed person, target-oriented, and driven by results.

I find myself at total ease when I deal with Marketing & Communication issues and when I am asked to do creative jobs, explore different paths and find a route to meet a goal or new perspectives to cope with difficult situations. I’m attracted by travel and tourism (especially when it is responsible), cross-cultural communication, outdoor sports and activities, natural science, environmental issues, healthy and sustainable lifestyle, Italian heritage, Brazilian culture, anthropology, visual arts, architecture, and design. I like being updated about the recent developments and events in my areas of interest.

I am a smiley person, and I enjoy spending my time with other people.

As a passionate traveler, I’ve backpacked solo around the world, especially in South America.

In my free time, I visit museums and exhibitions or go trekking in the mountains with my dog Sophie. And, last but not least, I enjoy teaching and “losing time” on research and paying the utmost attention to details. I always try and stop the frenzy and, in the end, I stay on schedule, even if it may be tempting!
